We combine acclimatisation hikes with summits attempts, doing routes of the most popular peaks in the Condoriri region. 
The itinerary ends at Illimani the mystical mountain, guardian of the city of La Paz

Day 1/ city tour

Today we will discover the city of La Paz walking through historical areas and visiting popular places, we will also use the cable cars to have the best views of the city, then we will pass through the famous valley of the moon, and we will end in the center of the city.

Day 2/ tiwanaku - copacabana

We leave from the hotel at 8 a.m. We will drive for two hours until we reach Tiwanaku archaeological area in the highlands, we will take a classic tour of the museum and the archaeological ruins learning about the history of this culture, then we will continue driving to Copacabana, where we will stay in a hotel to spend the/ night In a hotel

Day 3/ sun and moon island

After having breakfast we will go to the nearby port to take a boat that will take us to the island of the moon to take a first walk discovering and learning about the beautiful history of this island, then we will continue on the boat to the island of the sun where the The hike will be a little longer, we will enjoy the beautiful view of the lake and the Royal Mountain Range, in the afternoon we will return to Copacabana to spend the night

Day 4/copacabana - base camp condoriri

After breakfast our transport will be ready to take us back to the town of Palcoco, from here we will continue in the direction of the mountain range, specifically to the Condoriri National Park, we will arrive at La Rinconada at noon, we will have lunch there while our team of mule drivers prepare our luggage so that the mules take it to the base camp (Chiar Khota lagoon 4,650m.) From Rinconada to the base camp it is an hour's walk, we set up our Base camp and rest there./night in tents.

Day 5/ hike pico austria 5.350m.

After a hearty breakfast we will begin an acclimatization hike to Austria Peak. It usually takes 3 to 4 hours to reach the summit. We will return to the base camp along the same route to the base camp where we will spend the night in tents.

Day 6/ practices on glacier

Today we will walk for an hour to the nearby glacier to begin a series of basic mountaineering practices (glacier crossing, use of crampon, use of ice axe, self-arrest in falls) in the afternoon we return to our base camp to rest/night in tents

Day 7/ summit pequeño alpamayo 5.410m. - base camp huayna potosi 4.700m.

This will be a long day, we will leave at 2 a.m. From the camp it will take us an hour to reach the glacier from here we will cross a broken glacier until we reach Tarija peak 5,340m. where we will have an impressive view of the Little Alpamayo, after a rest, we will descend 70m. along a rock ridge to the base of the Little Alpamayo and we will continue along the ridge to the summit. It usually takes 5 to 6 hours in total to reach this summit. After having rested and taken photos of this beautiful summit, we will return to the base camp by the same route, there we will rest for an hour and then we will pack our luggage to descend to Rinconada where our transportation will be ready to take us to Huayna Potosi base camp/night in refuge.

Day 8/ base camp - high camp 5.130 m. huayna potosi

We will have breakfast a little late at 9 a.m., we will be able to rest a little more and we will leave for the high camp after lunch, it usually takes only two hours of walking to reach the high camp/night in the shelter

Day 9/ summit huayna potosi 6.088m. - la paz

Once again we started the day early after having a good coffee and preparing our equipment we left at 01:00 a.m. At first we will walk for half an hour until we reach the glacier, then we will continue on the glacier, the walk usually lasts 4 to 5 hours until we reach the summit of this mountain, the views of the city of El Alto, the Altiplano, Lake Titicaca and The Royal mountain range is impressive, we will return to the high camp along the same route, we will rest in the high camp for an hour and then we will continue descending to the base camp where our transportation will be ready to return to the city of La Paz/ni9ht in hotel.

Day 10/ rest day

This is a necessary break, our clients will be able to enjoy and explore the city on their own/night in a hotel.

Day 11/ La Paz - base camp illimani 4.600m.

We will leave La Paz after half a day, we will drive for 3 hours to the town of Pinaya, we will take a short break there (we need to register and obtain the pass) then we will continue driving for another half hour until we reach the base camp where we will set up our tents to spend the night/night in tents

Day 12/ base camp - high camp (nido de condores) 5.550m.

After breakfast we will prepare our equipment so that our team of local porters can take it to the high camp (NIDO DE CÓNDORES) 5,550m., we will begin the walk that lasts between 3 to 4 hours to the high camp once again we will have to set up our tents. night in tents.

Day 13/ summit illimani 6.442m. - la paz

We will have a coffee and some cookies before leaving, at 5,550 m. Day 1/LA PAZ – KHOTIA - AJUANI

We La Paz and drive to Laguna Khotia (4570m) where we will transfer our equipment to the donkeys that will accompany us throughout the trip. We slowly gain altitude until we reach a pass (4820m) from which Lake Titicaca and the Altiplano can be seen stretching to the horizon. We descend to Ajuani (4670m) where we set up camp./ night in tents

Day 2/ AJUANI – JURI KHOTA

After breakfast we start climbing to a mountain pass which affords us our first views of Huayna Potosi and the Condoriri Massif. We descend to Laguna Sistana (4620m) for lunch, and then climb to today’s second pass which reveals more of the Condoriri. Finally, we descend to Laguna Jurikhota (4600m) and set up camp for the night./ night in tents

Day 3/ JURI KHOTA – PICO AUSTRIA – BASE CAMP CONDORIRI

We hike towards Laguna Glacial (4900m) at the base of the Condoriri Massif, before climbing to Austria Pass (5150m). At this point we can either take a detour via Pico Austria (5300m) or descend directly to our mountaineering base camp next to Laguna Chiar Khota (4600m)./night in tents

Day 4/ PRACTICE DAY

After a hearty breakfast we organise our climbing gear and head to the base of the nearby glacier. We spend the day learning (or reminding ourselves of) essential mountaineering techniques: glacier traverse, knots, and the use of ice axes and crampons./night in tents

Day 5/ PEQUEÑO ALPAMAYO SUMMIT-BASE CAMP

We set off very early and start climbing the same glacier as yesterday, but this time we take a different route to reach Pico Tarija (5250m). From here we get a perfect view of today’s summit: Pequeno Alpamayo (5370m). We climb 70m down Tarija and follow the ridge in front of us to reach Pequeno’s summit. This is a long day./ nightin tents

Day 6/ REST DAY

Day 7/ SUMMIT CABEZA DE CONDOR-BASE CAMP

Today we summit Cabeza del Condor (5700m), which is more technically challenging than anything we’ve attempted so far. We spend 6-7 hours on mixed moraine/rock before using everything we’ve learnt so far to pass the final narrow rock and ice section to reach the summit./night in tents

Day 8/ BASE CAMP -MARI LLOKO CAMP

We will spend the next few days trekking and will not need our crampons or ice axes. Today we climb only one mountain pass, Jistana (4900m), before descending into the Racacha valley and passing through old mining villages. We finish the day by setting ups camp between Maria Lloko (4450m) and the Western face of Huayna Potosi (6088m)./night in tents

Day 9/ MARIA LLOKO – BASE CAMP HUAYNA POTOSI

Today we climb up to the mountain pass Huallatani (4850m) before circling around Milluni (5483m) to reach Huayna Potosi’s base camp (4700m) where we can have a shower and sleep indoors in a mountain refuge./night in refuge

Day 10/ base camp - high camp huayna potosi

Today we hike for 2-3 hours to our high camp: the Mountaineer’s House (5130m). We have an early night and get ready for tomorrow.

Day 11/SUMMIT HUAYNA POTOSI (FRENCH ROUTE) – HIGH CAMP-BASECAMP- LA PAZ

We will start our summit at 2AM. Today will bring together all of the skills and experience of the last week as we attempt Huayna Potosi’s French Route. We follow the standard route to 5500m where we take a detour to Huayna’s Eastern face. We climb this 330m wall (60°-65°) to the mountain’s Southern summit (5960m) before following an exposed ridge to the true Northern summit (6088m). We return to the basecamp by the normal route before driving back to La Paz.

Day 1/LA PAZ – condoriri base camp

We leave La Paz and drive for 2.5hrs to La Rinconada (4530m) where we load our equipment onto donkeys. We then hike for an hour to Laguna Chiar Khota (4620m), our basecamp. We have the choice of sleeping in tents or in the Fisherman’s house, a small mountain refuge at the edge of the lake. Depending on how you feel you can either rest or explore the surrounding area to help with your acclimatisation./ NIGHT IN REFUGE

Day 2/ practice day

After a hearty breakfast we organise our climbing gear and head to the base of the nearby glacier. We spend the day learning the essential mountaineering techniques: glacier traverse, knots, and the use of ice axes and crampons./ NIGHT IN REFUGE

Day 3/ summit pequeño alpamayo - base camp 

We will leave early (2 to 3 am) the initial walk is 1 hour approach to the glacier then we will put on all the mountain equipment, to continue on a hike on the glacier to the Tarija peak at 5300m., Where you have a beautiful view of the Pequeño Alpamayo, After a short break we will continue on a descent in rocky terrain until we reach the base of the mountain and we will continue the climb on a progressive 45 to 55 degree ridge until we reach the 5410m summit. We will return to the base camp by the same route. /NIGHT IN REFUGE

Day 4/ transfer base camp huayna potosi - high camp

After breakfast we will depart back to LA RINCONADA where our 4WD transport will be ready to take us directly to the base camp of Huayna Potosí (4.720m.) By a short route passing near the impressive west face of this mountain. At base camp we will have lunch and prepare our equipment and then hike for 2 to 3 hours to the high camp of Huayna Potosí (5.200m.) / NIGHT IN REFUGE

Day 5/ summit huayna potosi - la paz

We will leave very early (01:00 a.m.) the crossing through the normal route to the summit takes 4 to 5 hours with progressive slopes of 45 to 50 degrees after reaching the summit (6088m.) And enjoy the beautiful sunrise there. We will return to high camp by the same route, we will rest for an hour there, and then we will continue the descent to the base camp where our transport will be ready to take us back to the city of La Paz.
