Little Alpamayo is a beautiful mountain that is in the Condoriri park, it is a hidden mountain that cannot be completely seen from the base camp.
The first part of its normal route is to the Tarija peak, from this peak it is possible to fully appreciate the Little Alpamayo.
The normal west ridge (AD) route is the most visited but they also have more technical routes such as the Directisima (D-),for more experienced mountaineers.
We leave at 09:00 from your hotel and drive for three hours (we must cross the city of El Alto) and we will arrive at Rinconada, where a team of mule drivers will be ready with the animals to take us to the base camp 4,630m. Usually an hour's walk, we can choose to spend the night in one of the shelters (basic shelter) or use our tents.
After an abundant breakfast, We organize our equipment to go to the mountain glacier, where we will learn or remember the basic mountaineering techniques (use of crampons, use of ice axes, traversing the glacier, ice climbing) then we will return to the base camp to rest.
We wake up at 01:00 to have breakfast, then we begin the one-hour walk to the glacier, from this point we will use the mountain equipment and begin a traverse over a broken glacier until we reach Tarija peak 5,350m. where we will have to descend 70 m. until we reach the base of the Little Alpamayo and we will begin a climb at progressive inclines of 45 to 55 degrees until we reach the summit, after enjoying the beautiful view we will descend along the same route to the base camp, we will take a break and then we will continue our We walk to La Rinconada where our transportation will be ready to take us back to La Paz
