The El Choro hike is one of the most popular pre-Columbian routes and one of the most famous in Bolivia. It usually takes around 3 days, starting at CHUCURA 3,926m (previously it started at La Cumbre, but now a road reaches the community and this part was shortened) until finally reaching the small town of Chairo 1,583m. crossing several towns and heading along roads that were formerly used by the Inca people as trade routes.
We leave the city early and drive for two and a half hours until we reach the community of Chucura, where we will begin our hike.
The climate is temperate, The trail is well maintained by the community members. Some bridges along the way require some work in the rainy season. After walking for about 4 to 5 hours we will arrive at our first camp, Villa Lova, where we will spend the night.
We should leave a little early this day, we prepare breakfast and begin our walk, today is the longest day, 5 to 6 hours of walking on a well-arved path, the hot atmosphere of the valley is felt, the dense vegetation is beautiful. We arrived at the next camp at sunset.
Today is the last day of the hike, it will be really short, after breakfast we start, it will take us no more than 3 hours to reach the community of Chairo, the lowest point of this trekking, our transportation will be ready to take us back to La Paz, in the On the way we will stop in the community of Pongo to enjoy a delicious trout, we arrive in the city between 5 and 6 in the afternoon.
