Parinacota is a conical stratovolcano, with a well-defined crater 500m in diameter and around 100m deep, located right on the border line with Chile.
Parinacota is part of the PAYACHATAS (twins) although they are very different, Prinacota is more popular than his brother Pomerape, due to easy access.
We leave at 07:00 a.m. From La Paz we will drive for about four hours (we have to cross the city of La Paz and El Alto) on the way we will see the transition from the city to the immense, arid plateau, we will make a few stops to visit the Chullpares (ruins of the Mollo culture ), and the valley of rocks, both very picturesque and with incredible views. We will arrive at the town of Sajama in the afternoon, we will still have time to take a walk to the Montecielo viewpoint and enjoy the beautiful view, we will rest in a family house/
After a good breakfast at the family house, we take our 4x4 and drive to the high camp of Parinacota 5,150m. where we will begin a hike between huge rocks and loose sand until we reach the glacier at 5,900 m where we will equip ourselves with crampons and continue the hike until we reach the summit, the views of the crater are impressive, in addition to having a beautiful view of Pomerape , sajama and the altiplano... we will return along the same path to our car, to return to the town of Sajama where the friendly family awaits us with a good lunch, after resting a little we will go to the hot springs to take a well-deserved shower/night at family house
We will have a hearty breakfast and then drive to the geysers for a last walk before returning to the city of La Paz.
